Does anybody know where I can get a one cup bra? I’ve had a mastectomy but don’t want to wear a prosthesis.
I’m happy to cut my old bras up - but surely there’s others who feel like I do. I can’t believe that on this planet where money buys everything (nearly) that some entrepreneur hasn’t thought of this.
Hey Berta… we were interested in this comment, so we put our heads together to see what we could find out for you. Alas there does not seem to be such a thing on the market. I suppose the manufacturers are targeting what they think 80% of women who have had mastectomy surgery might want.
However, there may be something which will eventually come to market. Someone has patented a single cup post-mastectomy bra. We found details here: -

Much of the info we have found on Mastectomy bras from sources such as the UK NHS does seem to be angled towards women finding a bra / swimsuit with a good fit, and altering it to suit their own requirements. Not such handy advice if you’re not a dab hand at the old sewing.
