Chloe was created in 1952 by an Egyptian born Parisienne Gaby Aghion. She was sick of the stuff formality that characterised clothing during that period and set about creating a beautiful range of soft, body conscious clothing which was completely unique. Gaby referred to them as “Luxury Pret-a-Porter”.
The label was named “Chloe” to reflect the warm, youthful appeal of their designs and to fit the young and vibrant spirit of Paris at that time. By 1966, Chloe had employed Karl Lagerfield as their head designer and under his guidance the popularity of Chloe exploded and became a firm favourite with celebrities of the time. Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, and Grace Kelly all loved Chloe’s stylish designs.
These days, Chloe is still a hugely popular label with todays Hollywood stars for all the same reasons previous generations have loved the designs. Soft, fluid, feminine. Chloe’s clothing and swimwear collections are feminie, wearable and vibrant.
