Karen Millen Brand Profile…

Although now operating under the massive fashion umbrella that is the Bauger Corporation, the Karen Millen brand wasn’t always such a big hitter in the industry. It all started with a £100 loan and one hundred metres of plain white cotton. Karen Millen and partner Kevin Stanford set about making and selling plain white t-shirts to friends, family and anyone else that they could part with their cash!

The selling network grew until 1983 when they opened their very first store in Kent. This shortly grew to 5 stores including an all important presence in London. The growth of the company continued through the nineties and into the millennium when in 2004 it was snapped up by Mosaic Fashions Ltd.

We now know Mosaic Fashions as Bauger who also own the likes of Warehouse, Oasis, Shoe Studio and Principles. The Karen Millen now has over 110 stores spread over 29 countries. Just enough to pay off that £100 loan I reckon!

The Karen Millen team of 12 dedicated designers is now led by Creative Director – Gemma Metheringham.

The entire Karen Millen range of lingerie is perfectly sculpted to fit the female form. This attention to getting the right fit for you body has created a range of garments that not only feel great, but give you the confidence to show off the luxurious sexy effects they produce.
